Saturnine Weaving Co is the creation of Mariann Howl, a Calgary-based crafter who balances her love of knitting, weaving, plants, and broom making with her day job in postsecondary education.  

A lapsed Catholic and medieval enthusiast, Mariann is inspired by religious iconography, paganism, witchcraft, and objects traditionally associated with women's work. As a broom maker, Mariann focuses on hand-held whisk brooms that are both functional and ornamental. Through experiments with locally grown plants, delicate dried florals, and hand dyed broom corn, Saturnine Weaving Co's brooms are an affordable, space-friendly option for modern witches, cottagecore fans, and anyone who appreciates rustic charm.
